Stem Nut Machining
Stem nuts are the drive element between the valve and actuator. Bronze stem nuts are the sacrificial lamb in most gate and globe valve applications. In fact, stem nuts are the most commonly replaced actuator part during actuator refurbishments, and the root cause of many Motor Operated Valve failures. When stem nuts fail, the actuator will not open or close the valve electrically, or mechanically.

That is why Action Automation stocks stem nuts for all Limitorque actuators models. We also have sources for quick availability for Rotork, Auma, EIM, and Biffi actuators. Action Automation has the ability to machine the threads for single, double, and triple lead standard 29 degree standard acme threads, stub acme, and modified stub acme thread.

Action Automation has manufactured and retained drawings for yoke nuts of large pressure seal Powell and Edwards Y pattern globe valves that utilize Limitorque SMB -4T and SMB-5T actuators. Our turnaround time and cost are a fraction of the OEM’s.
